Résumé :
This student practical manual covers a comprehensive range of practical work for the whole of an Earth Science course run in senior high school or first year university. It is printed in black and white to keep student costs down. Not only does it give practical work from identifying minerals in class to comprehensive astronomy nights, it also includes training in report writing and research. Safety is emphasised throughout with appropriate warnings and precise instructions for avoiding harm. This book is part of the Adventures in Earth Science series, and, as such the activities perfectly match the content in the text, whether using the comprehensive text, Adventures in Earth Science, or the individual topic books (each lasts a term) to supplement another prescribed text. It can be used with any Earth Science course, however. Further details, cautions, guidance and support, as well as all the answers for the questions is in the Adventures in Earth Science Teachers' Guide. This guides new and experienced Earth Science teachers in getting the most out of the course.
Biographie:
Peter Scott was born and raised in Sydney, Australia and has written over twenty-five books including non-fiction on Earth Science, the environment, survival and teaching. In the last few years, he has turned to fiction and has written in a variety of genres, mainly historical adventure, science fiction and crime. Graduating from Sydney Teachers' College he later completed part-time university studies gaining a Bachelor of Science, Masters Degrees in Science and Educational Administration and finally a Doctorate in Education. Apart from his part-time education, he has also been a university lecturer, an Australian Army Reserve officer and Naval Cadet instructor. Having travelled extensively to all seven continents, he has always followed his own interests and so his novels often reflect his personal experiences. Scotland and Edinburgh in particular, has always been one of his favourite places and he has returned there several times. He now lives in Brisbane, Australia with his wife and extended family.
