Présentation Dream On de Smith, Dai Format Broché
- Livre
Résumé :
Dream On is a composite novel: part black comedy and flashlight noir thriller, part meditation on the stories that connect up the frayed wires in the business of living.
Biographie:
Dai Smith is Professor in the Cultural History of Wales at Swansea University. He has written extensively about modern Wales, including Aneurin Bevan and the World of South Wales (1993) and Wales: A Question for History (1998). He is Series Editor of the Library of Wales and currently Chair of the Arts Council of Wales. Dream On is his fiction debut.
Sommaire: A dark and twisting tale of identity, memory, and political compromise in Wales. Digger Davies' untimely death sets in motion a series of events that will challenge everything. An award-winning photographer returns home, embarking on a quest to reclaim his forgotten identity and confront his compromised life. Meanwhile, a thwarted politician lies in a hospital bed, penning his own obituary, and a beautiful girl remains eternally alive in an old man's memory. This noir thriller explores the stories that connect the frayed wires in the business of living. Will the photographer uncover the truth about his past? Can the politician find redemption in his final words? And what is the secret that binds them all together? Dream On experiments with genre boundaries, painting detailed portraits of characters caught between memory and reality.
