Biographie:
Prisca Augustyn is Assistant Professor of German and Linguistics at Florida Atlantic University. She received her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 2000. She teaches courses in Linguistics, German, and Comparative Studies and has published in the areas of German Language and Culture, Linguistics and Semiotics. Nikolaus Euba received his degree in Deutsch als Fremdsprache from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitat in Munich. Before coming to California, he taught and coordinated German courses at Miami University of Ohio and the University of South Carolina where he received the Star Award for Excellent Service to the Student Community (1998) and the Mortar Board Excellence in Teaching Award (2001). At Berkeley, he coordinates the German Language Program and mentors the Graduate Student Instructors who teach the elementary and intermediate level language courses. His teaching interests include questions of language program articulation and the integration of drama pedagogy into the foreign language learning experience, which he actively pursues with the annual performance-based course on German Kabarett. He serves as vice-president of the Northern California AATG chapter and, in the summer, as AP reader in German and director of Berkeley's Summer Workshop in Berlin.
