It's explained here that being aware of the functions and properties of the mind and the modes in which it functions makes you then not act through the subjectivity of the mind. Changing the action doesn't help. Changing the state of mind can get you the desired success, and then you truly rock in life. The author wanted the book to come out of him based on his own life experiences rather than writing anything based on some bookish knowledge. Contrary to general belief, success in the material world can only be a result of being spiritual. Only then can you rock.
