ABOUT THE AUTHOR I have spent most of my life working in fashion and cosmetics. Starting out from behind the cosmetic counter in 1978, and eventually climbing the corporate ladder for three divisions of May Department Stores. Positions held include: Estee Lauder Beauty Advisor and Counter Manager, Department Manager for Cosmetics, Handbags, and Accessories, Cosmetics Area Sales Manager, Assistant Buyer Cosmetics, and Senior Assistant Buyer for Women's Shoes. I have bought cosmetics and shoes for sixteen department store locations, helped open new doors (stores), organized hundreds of cosmetic events, created cosmetic visual presentations, worked with vendors, set cosmetic standards, and have been honored to hire, train, and manage hundreds of absolutely amazing Cosmetic Beauty Advisors/Consultants throughout the years. Even when I left cosmetics to open my own Bed & Breakfast, I somehow managed to keep one foot in the door, doing Estee Lauder freelance makeup artistry and promotional work, along with fragrance and jewelry modeling. Since cosmetics has always been a big part of my life, it seemed only fitting I went back to school in 2010 at age 57 to get my Advanced Managing Esthetician License. I am sure they will always remember the lady with the gray hair!...
