So strangely indifferent have the citizens of New York city been to the preservation of ancient buildings within their bor ders, that it may be both interesting and profitable to realize that another neighborhood of their own state has not been so neglectful of old associations. This neighborhood clusters around Newburgh Bay, whose center is The Palatine City, and whose limit is the sweep of a great circle, mainly to the south, southwest and east, of a radius of not to exceed four or five miles.
