Présentation Rock And Water Format Broché
- Livre
Résumé : Just as a stream seamlessly wanders through the natural world over, around, or surrounded by rocks, the purpose of Rock and Water is to provide access to basic skills to help us enhance our happiness in the midst of the meanderings of our everyday lives, regardless of the obstacles. These skills are based primarily on current research and practice in the fields of cognitive psychology and mindfulness/acceptance, two disciplines that have mostly been isolated from each other. ROCK AND WATER provides these concepts in a complementary form applying two simple metaphors from nature. Rock symbolizes the strong personal platform that reasonable thinking and sensible beliefs can provide for our lives. Water symbolizes the peace that can come to our lives by learning to let go of things we can't easily change or that don't matter. Together they provide an integrated resource for greater happiness. ROCK AND WATER helps you to peacefully navigate the unpredictable path of life.
Each of us has a drive for happiness; but we're also born with very imperfect emotions. Family, friends, vibrant health, love, financial security, are just a few aspects of life that most - if not all - people perceive as a happy life. One day you may pause for a moment and mentally check off every item on your ideal life checklist and think, Hey, I made it... I did it.. But am I happy? What happened? What about those pesky, unhappy thoughts & feelings?
