    • Résumé :
Do you know what your inner gold looks like? Have you looked deep within your heart to know the path you are on is the right one? Do you have goals in place to help find and reach that inner gold?

If you ever had to deal with change in your life, within your personal or you business life, you know that sometimes

change can suck! How did you deal with it? Most of us don't deal with change very well. We tend to become complacent and like things as they are, as the old adage goes 'Why change it if it ain't broke!' Unfortunately life can

sometimes have a way of changing things for you and it is that which I hope this book will help you through.

My life changed drastically a number of times with a few major changes and challenges, those being a move to the other side of the world and then again with what I thought at the time was a devastating diagnosis of a chronic illness. Compound the chronic illness with a cancer scare with major life changing surgery and you start to look at life a bit differently. So how did I deal with these changes and how did I find my inner gold are two of the questions I get asked the most when I am speaking to people.

If you are someone who struggles with setting goals and coping with change, it doesn't have to be a major event like mine but even the smaller things such as a new job or boss at work, then this book will give you some insight into how I challenge myself and deal with the changes in my life. It will also give you some strategies on how to cope with change and your mindset.

If you are struggling with finding that inner gold or lack the courage to try something new, wondering how I channel a winning mindset, interested in overcoming hurdles or how to celebrate your success then just go to that chapter on that topic. There is no right or wrong way to read this book.

I wrote this book because I have been able to find my inner gold and always seemed to be able to overcome challenges. It hasn't been easy but I have worked out ways to accept that change happens, get through the difficulties, find the courage to change, learn how to grow through the changes and have powerful belief in myself. At times I couldn't understand why everyone wasn't the same, why people were so scared of going after what they wanted and dealing with change.

I hope that when you read my thoughts and strategies told through stories in my life that you will understand that you don't have to be scared of your dreams, goals and change. That even though we may be fearful of attempting things or dealing with change we can eventually have amazing and

      wonderful outcomes.

Take the plunge, challenge yourself and you may actually find a new you, one who is brave and fearless, ready to take on anything the world has to throw at you.

      Biographie:
Carol was born in Canada in 1961. She worked as a police officer in Canada for 14 years, including 4 years undercover with the drug squad. Carol was devastated when diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998. By 2001,
she was using a wheelchair full-time. However, through regular exercise and Botox injections in her legs, Carol
not only regained the ability to walk, but took up competitive rowing and cycling.

Carol was a former national swimmer in Canada. In 2006, she took up rowing, having been identified at a Paralympic Talent Search Day. She proved a natural on the water, narrowly missing out on a position on the Beijing 2008 team but placing sixth at the 2009 World Rowing Championships.

Carol switched sports to cycling with a plan to make the London 2012 Paralympic team. Carol achieved her goal when she was named in the Australian Paralympic team for London 2012.

In London, years of toil paid off. Carol won a gold medal in the Mixed Time Trial T1-2 event. In 2013 at the World
Para Cycling Championships, Carol became a Dual World Champion and backed it up in 2014.

Since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Carol has dedicated her working life to raising awareness and funds for MS.

She developed and still leads the operation of the 24 Hour Mega Swim event, dedicated to raising money for MS. In 2014, Carol was honoured with an Australia Day Award which named her a 'Member' of the Order of Australia (AM) for her service to sport and philanthropy.

Carol lives the philosophy that you must dare to face your fears and believe in yourself. She says that you have to have the Courage to take a Chance to make a Change. It is advice she shares through her work as an inspiring motivational speaker telling of her incredible life story and through her book Cycle of
Life - a Gold Medal Paralympian's Secrets to Success.
