Groundwater is one of the most pervasive environmental problems, and cleaning polluted sites has proven formidable. Remediation efforts are often hindered both by the complexity of the subsurface environment and the difficulty of gathering information on the subsurface. This volume evaluates a selection of new technologies for the remediation of groundwater pollution. It covers techniques for both site remediation and characterization, and many of the techniques described are ready for commercial application. The book emphasizes field tested methods, particularly methods using tracers.
