Présentation A Traveller's Wine Guide To France de Christopher Fielden Format Broché
- Livre Vins - Alcools - Boissons
Résumé :
One of the pleasures of wine touring, writes Christopher Fielden, is the limitless interest of the subject. Each year the wine is different, each season the scenery changes. Round every corner there is a new grower or merchant waiting to be visited. There can bc few more satisfying ways of passing time in France than talking to a grower about his or her wine, with a glass of it in your band. The home of many of the world's greatest wines, nowhere else will you find such a warm welcome awaiting you in the cellar. A Traveller's Wine Guide to France provides a fascinating introduction to the wine regions and their vineyards. There are clear guidelines for visiting wineries and tasting their wines. Is there a charge for tasting ? Are you expected to spit ? (Yes in Burgundy; no in Alsace.) This book supplies answers to these and many other questions.
Biographie:
Christopher Fielden's career bas taken him around the world, lecturing and broadcasting on wine, and has included four years in France as sales director of a major Burgundy producer. For many years he had a regular column in the international wine magazine Decanter. His numerous publications include Burgundy Vines and Wines, White Burgundy, Alsace Wines and Is This the Wine you Ordered, Sir? Illustrated with specially commissioned photographs (wine usually seems to be made in attractive surroundings) as well as maps, the books in this series describe the wine-producing regions of each country. The authors recommend itineraries, list wineries that welcome visitors, describe the local cuisines, and provide a mass of practical information - much of which is not readily available elsewhere.
