Biographie:
Averil King's area of interest is the art of northern Europe and Russia in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She has written about the Russian landscape painter Isaak Levitan, friend of Chekhov; the innovative Bremen artist Paula Modersohn-Becker; and now the celebrated German Expressionist, Emil Nolde. King is a regular contributor to Apollo Magazine, Art Newspaper and Country Life.
