        Proposes a common European intellectual framework to evaluate recent developments in European multiculturalism The 'crisis of multiculturalism' comes at a time of heightened security awareness as a result of the events of 9/11, the London and Madrid bombings, and their aftermath. This interdisciplinary book details empirical and theoretical inquiries into immigrant minority claims, with a special focus on Muslim immigrants, the value issues entrenched in them and the related policy challenges and measures adopted to address them. Tariq Modood is Professor of Sociology, Politics and Public Policy and the founding Director of the Centre for the Study of Ethnicity and Citizenship at the University of Bristol. His recent publications include /Still Not Easy Being British/ (2010) and (co-edited with J. Salt) /Global Migrations, Ethnicity and Britishness/ (2011). Nasar Meer is Senior Lecturer in the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Northumbria. His publications include /Citizenship, Identity and the Politics of Multiculturalism/ (2010).

        Biographie:

        Professor Anna Triandafyllidou directs the Cultural Pluralism Research Area at the Global Governance Programme of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute, in Florence, Italy. She is also Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, and the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Immigrant and Refugee Studies.

        Tariq Modood is Professor of Sociology, Politics and Public Policy and the founding Director of the Centre for the Study of Ethnicity and Citizenship at the University of Bristol. He is a Fellow of the British Academy.

        Dr Nasar Meer is Reader and Chancellor's Fellow in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Strathclyde.
