Présentation The Hereafter de Tony Smith Format Broché
- Livre Littérature érotique et sentimentale
Résumé :
Justin Ebberson lived and worked on Roa Island, near Barrow-in-Furness, and he had spent the last two years grieving over the death of the love of his life, Jean Baxter. Joining the Territorial Army was meant to help him get over his loss, but eventually he yearned for a new partner, which led to a love triangle, or was it lust? Would he find his way out of this? In another northern community, namely Workington, John Seeton had a marriage that he wanted to protect, and his connection with a brass band wasn't helping. As if that wasn't enough, John found himself on the fringe of another love triangle that involved his ex-wife. Could his marriage survive? Whilst these two northern communities played out their own dramas, they were interconnected, and a link between Justin and John influenced their individual fortunes....
Biographie:
The author was born in Blaenavon, Monmouthshire but now resides in Atherton, Greater Manchester with his wife Jean. He has two daughters, two granddaughters, a grandson and a great granddaughter. Most of his working life was spent as a Further Education College Lecturer whereas in his spare time he spent 25 years in uniformed service, firstly with the TAVR(REME) followed by the RAFVR(T) and finally with the RNR(SCC). Nowadays when not caring for his wife he writes, reads books and builds model aircraft. He has a craving for brass bands and is notorious for having his head in the clouds. The author writes - I have always dabbled in writing about things. I suppose it began around 1960 when I was a keen cyclist and I began submitting reports on my clubs activities to the local press alongside articles for the membership newsletter. It was in these formative writing years that my zany sense of humour led me to write my first book, which remains unpublished, titled One of Our Black Puddings Has Landed. Much later in life my interest in brass bands provided me with an opportunity to report on the monthly concerts held in Atherton's long gone Formby Hall and as a member of the backroom team of the World famous Wingate's Band I wrote stuff for the supporters club newsletter. My fascination with aviation really spurred me on to write more frequently and my experience serving in the TAVR, RAFVR(T) and RNR(SCC) provided me with a vast range of experiences to draw upon. As a member of the Ulster Aviation Society (I have a daughter living in Northern Ireland) I have written extensively for the Societies monthly journal which is called the Ulster Airmail. My interest in music and aviation came together in 2012 when I suffered a bout of madness and I wrote four books in the fantasy/humour genre which were published in the USA, the first being called Making Rain and Other Things Is Our Business. This was followed by A Cloud's Life and Weather to Order. The fourth book was titled It's Not Just About Rain. Basically I capitalised on the British obsession and sense of humour when it comes to the subject of weather. The highlight of this venture was the creation of a musical show based on a story in the first book and which was called The Great Shindig. In more recent times my role in life as changed and my activities are mostly concentrated on caring for my wife who suffers from poor health. Writing as taken on a new importance, its become a form of escapism into a world of fantasy that helps me to cope with days of strict routine. My day dreaming as manifested itself into a series of books which fall into the erotic/romance genre with humour thrown in (well I needed some fun in life). The first book in the series was called They Left It Too Late which was published in March 2024. The book tells the story of a group of northerners that live and work on Roa Island which is near Barrow-in-Furness with a loose connection to folk in Workington. The second in the series, called A Parallel Life which was published in December 2024deals with a group of northerners that live and work in Workington with a loose connection to folk on Roa Island. The third book in the series, called The Last Gasp which was published in March 2025 tells the story of how two northern communities, one on Roa Island and the other in Workington, are linked by love and industry which end in tragedy. Originally I had no intentions of continuing the stories that connected communities on Roa Island and Workington but my curiosity in terms of what happened next won the day and my book called The Hereafter follows the journey that I have created. I hope you enjoy sharing that journey. TONY SMITH...
