    • Résumé :
A collection of a myriad manifestations of language: many places from the heart, individuals, beasts or experiences which inhabit this country. An inter-poesy designed to provide a dialogical fabric of colours, senses, images, and emotions that weave across the Australian time-scape. The book is peopled with children, on and off-stage ground breakers, the swell of the Indian and Southern Oceans, myths as its verses reach from west to east and south. This work speaks loudly and with the rich texture of the quotidian, the grand sweep of land and sea, forbidden and darkly coveted love. It has quiet corners of prayer or Diogenesian exclamation and steals or borrows from distant and near sources such as the Bible, Kundera, Harwood, Celan, Sei Shonagon and broken piano players. It uses many voice-styles to convey the vastness and depth of this human place and in particular its language....
