Présentation Stones Corner, Light Format Broché
- Livre Roman historique
Résumé :
Stones Corner: Light (Volume Three in the Stones Corner Series) The electrifying continuation of Jane Buckley's Stones Corner series, Light transports readers from war-torn Derry to London in the early 1980s - a world of ambition, betrayal, and forbidden love. Determined to escape her past, Caitlin McLaughlin builds a new life in England, surrounded by luxury and security. Yet the ghost of her lost love, James Henderson, refuses to fade. Back in Derry, James fights to save the Rocola shirt factory from collapse, trapped in a loveless marriage to a manipulative heiress. When the Provos' ruthless campaign triggers a devastating kidnap plot, the two are pulled together once more - their choices bound by duty, torn by love, and shadowed by deceit. A tale of conflict, sacrifice, and the price of survival. Bound by duty. Torn by love. Haunted by truth. When all seems lost, hope finds a way. Amid the chaos, glimmers of change emerge. A burgeoning women's movement crosses sectarian divides, and the shift from violence to politics begins to stir. But just as Northern Ireland dares to hope for peace, tragedy strikes in London, threatening to destroy everything they've fought for. Inspired by true events, Stones Corner: Light is a gripping, deeply human story of resilience, courage, and love in a divided land - where the fight for peace hangs by a thread. For readers of Louise Kennedy's Trespasses, Anna Burns's Milkman, and Lisa McGee's Derry Girls....

Her writing has been praised for its emotional depth, meticulous research and ability to capture both the brutality and resilience of the time.Jane is also the author of the forthcoming Project Children collection, an oral-history work that follows the journeys of young people from Northern Ireland who travelled to the United States during the summers of the 1970s to 1990s. Her aim is to preserve these voices for future generations and shine a light on the kindness and courage shown by families on both sides of the Atlantic. She speaks regularly at festivals, libraries and community events across Ireland and the UK, sharing insights on writing, independent publishing and the importance of telling untold stories.Jane lives in Donegal with her family and continues to write novels and nonfiction rooted in memory, truth and the drive to give voice to those too often overlooked....
