      • Résumé :

With its focus on the cultivation of fruits, vegetables, ornamental plants, and more, horticulture plays a vital role in providing nutritious food, enhancing landscapes, and contributing to economic prosperity worldwide. This new volume provides a comprehensive exploration of the intersection of technological advancement and agricultural practices, introducing the concept of smart horticulture production as a guiding principle that promises efficiency, precision, and environmental stewardship.

Smart Horticulture Production: Integrating Advanced Technologies delves into the various facets of smart horticulture, elucidating its principles, methodologies, and practical applications. Each chapter serves as a gateway to a realm where traditional farming meets cutting-edge technology, where age-old wisdom converges with the latest innovations, and where sustainability is not just a goal but a way of life.

The volume begins with an overview of the foundational concepts of smart horticulture, providing a solid understanding of its underlying principles and objectives. From there, it ventures into the realm of sensor technologies and data analytics, unravelling the intricacies of monitoring and managing horticultural systems with unprecedented precision. Through discussions on automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence, the book highlights how technology is revolutionizing every aspect of horticultural production, from planting and irrigation to pest management and harvesting.

The chapters also emphasize sustainability and resilience in the face of evolving environmental challenges. In chapters dedicated to climate-smart practices, resource optimization, and organic cultivation methods, the book explores how smart horticulture serves as a bulwark against climate change and resource depletion while fostering biodiversity and ecosystem health.

This volume will be valuable and inspirational for agricultural and horticultural researchers and scientists, agricultural professionals as well as faculty and students in the fields of horticulture, botany, agriculture, and even information technology.
