The short-story, is one of the most important literary subgenres in Urdu literature, despite its relative youth. This was influenced by western and literary concepts and tendencies, as well as the contemporary industrial and mechanized environment. Akhtar Ansari was a prominent poet and writer of the progressive era. More or less ten of his poetry collections came to the fore. He laid the foundation of impressionistic fiction and also worked on purely academic topics. He translated some of Ghalib's humorous writings into English. According to Akhtar Ansari's theory, literature has elements of universality. The literature of every era is influenced by life and its effects on life are also recorded. In this context, literature is not only a mouthful picture of the socio-political, class-economic and economic-social life of its creative era, but its effects are also recorded on the said era.
