Harriet is a native Kentuckian. She is a resident of Memphis, Tennessee for thirty-seven years. Being a pilot's wife, she has traveled extensively in the USA, Europe, the Middle East, and on occasion to South America in her fourty-two years of marriage. In 2018, she spent three weeks traveling Alaska and Canada for her forty-year wedding anniversary. She has lived and worked in England and the Middle East. Upon returning stateside in 1983, she and her husband began raising three boys. Between church commitments, Scouting, kids sports year-round, there was a lot of schedule juggling. Harriet ran a custom home-based cake business for twenty-five years. Missing out on many family events due to business commitments gave her an opportunity to truly appreciate the small things in life when they occurred around her. These small things were written down and held for a calmer time in her life. With the passing of her husband and closing of her business, Harriet has time to be creative on another level, sharing the stories which touched her heart during childrearing and daily life. She hopes you will enjoy the stories, although she admits literary license in some instances....
Sommaire:
Harriet Cobb, a native of Kentucky, has made Memphis, Tennessee, her home for more than four decades. The wife of a pilot, she has traveled widely throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and parts of South America. In 2018, she and her husband marked their fortieth wedding anniversary with a three-week journey through Alaska and Canada. Her years abroad included living and working in both England and the Middle East, experiences that continue to shape her worldview and her writing.Upon returning to the United States in 1983, Harriet and her husband devoted themselves to raising three sons. Life was full-church commitments, Scouting, and a constant rotation of sports kept the household lively and the schedule demanding. Alongside these responsibilities, Harriet operated a successful custom cake business for twenty-five years. With the passing of her husband and the closing of her business, Harriet turned to writing as a way to give voice to the moments she had long treasured. Many of her stories are drawn from the everyday joys and challenges of family life, often touched by the perspective of a grandmother. While she occasionally employs literary license, her work is rooted in authenticity and infused with warmth, humor, and a deep appreciation for life's small but meaningful details. Her debut book, Carmine - A Very Special Horse, introduced readers to her story-telling, and her forthcoming title, Mom's Bedroom Door, continues that journey.
