Biographie:
Rick Thomas launched the Life Over Coffee global training network in 2008 to bring hope and help for you and others by creating resources that spark conversations for transformation. His primary responsibilities are resource creation and leadership development, which he does through speaking, writing, podcasting, and educating. In 1990 he earned a BA in Theology and, in 1991, a BS in Education. In 1993, he received his ordination into Christian ministry, and in 2000, he graduated with an MA in Counseling from The Master's University. In 2006, he was recognized as a Fellow of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC)....
Sommaire:
They know the right answers, believe the right doctrines, and desire faithfulness-but when obedience costs something, courage often falters. Living Boldly: A 31-Day Devotional is designed to help believers move from fearful restraint to faithful action, one day at a time. This devotional begins by redefining boldness. Biblical boldness is not loudness, personality, or risk-taking for its own sake. It is not bravado or self-confidence. True boldness flows from confidence in God-trusting His character, His Word, and His purposes enough to obey Him when obedience feels costly, uncomfortable, or uncertain. Across thirty-one daily readings, Rick Thomas guides readers to examine the fears that quietly govern their lives. Fear of man, fear of loss, fear of failure, fear of suffering, and fear of uncertainty often shape decisions more than faith. This devotional helps readers identify those fears honestly and bring them into the light of Scripture, where they can be confronted and replaced with trust in God. Each devotion is rooted in biblical truth and written for practical application. The focus is not on emotional motivation, but on daily obedience. Readers are invited to consider where they hesitate to speak truth, where they avoid responsibility, where they compromise convictions, or where they retreat instead of trusting God. Boldness, the book insists, is ordinary obedience practiced consistently. A defining strength of Living Boldly is its realism. It does not promise dramatic transformation or pain-free faithfulness. Instead, it acknowledges that obedience often leads through difficulty, misunderstanding, or loss. The devotional reframes hardship as a context for courage rather than an excuse for retreat. Faithfulness matters more than outcomes. Throughout the thirty-one days, readers are encouraged to slow down, reflect prayerfully, and apply Scripture personally. The devotional format makes this resource suitable for individual use, small groups, or discipleship relationships. Each reading is concise enough for busy schedules, yet substantial enough to provoke thoughtful self-examination and prayer. The gospel remains central throughout. Bold living is not powered by willpower or moral resolve, but by confidence in Christ's finished work. Because believers are already accepted in Christ, they are free to obey without fear of rejection. Because God is sovereign, they can step forward without demanding certainty. Living Boldly is especially helpful for believers struggling with passivity, fear of man, indecision, or spiritual stagnation. It is also a strengthening resource for those seeking to cultivate consistent devotional habits while growing in courage and conviction. This devotional does not call readers to reckless living. It calls them to faithful living. When faith grows, fear loosens its grip-and everyday obedience becomes an act of bold worship. Life Over Coffee Publishers...
