When the medical non-combatant is denied security, safety, and rights under the Law of Armed Conflict and Geneva Convention, this tendency toward anarchy in warfare suggest that there is safety for no one. Medical non-combatants are not trained or prepared to be Prisoners of War. Medical non-combatants are not prepared or ready to face the human rights violations common to third world prisons that some Prisoners of War have endured. When both State and non-State actors disregard the legal status of medical non-combatants, these individuals face an increased danger that they may not fully understand.
