McCarthy's structured weekly approach empowers educators to combat time constraints by embedding powerful thinking activities into their lesson plans. Biographie:
For 25+ years, Dyan McCarthy enjoyed teaching students in many different populations, from kindergarten through eighth grade, in private and public schools, and spanning the socioeconomic, multicultural, linguistic, and academic spectrums. She taught all subjects (K-5) and ELA-R (K-8) with a TESL endorsement and a love for the creative drama process stemming from her background in Theatre education. Later, she enjoyed studying Instructional Design Theory, specializing in Instructional Technology (K-5), and teaching the Gifted and Talented Program (K-5). Most recently, she taught Creative Drama for Educators at her local community college. Ever present in her mind is the vital importance of diversity and equity in education. Retiring early due to disability, she lives in Oregon with her husband, her adult daughter, and their granddoodle, Momo. She enjoys nature walks, riding her tricycle, and no-contact boxing. When she is not exercising, she enjoys writing and creating. Follow your passion!...
