Présentation What The Nanny Said de Lara Finch Format Broché
- Livre Littérature Générale
Résumé : In an elegant house in Little Venice, London, a young mother is quietly going out of her mind. When a charming nanny arrives to help care for her little girl Evie, she seems like salvation - beautiful, capable, devoted to the child. But the nanny wants more than just a job. She wants everything. Twenty-five years later, Evie discovers newspaper clippings hidden among her dead mother's belongings - stories about a murdered woman and her missing daughter who shares Evie's exact name and birthday. Following the trail back to the place that was once her home, she'll uncover a story of manipulation, obsession, and a mother's impossible choice. Some secrets are buried out of love. Others are buried because the truth is too dangerous to tell. A haunting and sophisticated emotional thriller perfect for readers of Lisa Jewell, Celeste Ng and Alice Feeney.
Biographie:
Jane Robins's first love was journalism. For several years, she worked for The Economist as a foreign correspondent based in India and then Hong Kong. Back in the UK, she joined the BBC and became editor of Radio 4's Week in Westminster. She was then the media editor at _The Independent on Sunday_. When her son was young, she left journalism for a less frenetic life, and to follow her dream of writing books. Her first three works tell the story of historical criminal trials that gripped the nation - Queen Caroline's trial for adultery in 1820, the Brides in the Bath murder case in 1915 and the case of serial killer Dr John Bodkin Adams in 1957. Her debut novel, _White Bodies_, a psychological thriller, was long-listed for the Dublin International Literary Prize. She now lives in Cambridge and writes crime novels under the name Lara Finch....
