Biographie:
Manuel Iribarren (1902-1973) pertenece a la llamada 'Generaci?n del 36', la de todos esos escritores a los que asalt? la guerra cuando su carrera literaria estaba en ciernes. Cuando Iribarren public? en la m?tica colecci?n Austral, Jacinto Benavente y Gregorio Mara??n hablaron de 'obra maestra en su g?nero'. Este escritor navarro lleg? a Madrid con la Rep?blica y se gan? el respeto de las primeras espadas de entonces. Public? con las editoriales m?s importantes y estren?, como dramaturgo, en el Teatro Espa?ol. Disc?pulo del propio Benavente y de P?o Baroja, particip? en sus tertulias y all? compart?a los libros que publicaba. M?s tarde, consolidado como novelista, afianz? su amistad con ellos, pero tambi?n con otros como Miguel Delibes, que, como ?l, encontr? en el campo la inspiraci?n para construir sus personajes. Vers?til, autodidacta, obtuvo importantes galardones de poes?a, novela y relato corto, siendo el m?s importante el Nacional de Literatura, en 1965.
