This is the story of Mary Armstrong, daughter of Republican senator George Armstrong. Her short life, which came to an untimely end in a fatal crash near the exit of the Los Angeles Zoo, has been pieced together and brought to life from the pages of her diary found after her death. Included along with personal accounts of herself, there are numerous entries which the narrator and childhood friend asks: are they not rather interesting?
