Présentation Pantry & Preservation de Format Broché
- Livre 12 ans et +
Résumé :
Growing up I ate a lot of the same things, I was a pretty picky eater and had never learned much about cooking, let alone making it from scratch or about preserving it. Once I got older, I was exposed to cooking that always tasted so good with a variety of meats, veggies, and flavors. I married a hunter and fisherman and discovered the world of truly free-range food. I learned about foraging & gardening and started off small. Then inflation happened and food preservation became more than a hobby and is more of a daily routine. I had kinds and I learned what was in almost all the processed food in the stores. It made me want to start processing it at home with ingredients I could pronounce. Then I learned so many things can be made at home, made from scratch! As I continued to collect the recipes and write them down, I realized how important this was. How much I wanted others to know how to do this in their homes. What I've written here was collected over the course of my adult life so far. It's what I cook routinely for my family because they enjoy it, and I truly do as well. Inside this book, there are meals, sides, snacks, and desserts with a variety of flavours for each occasion. However it is the fridge and pantry section with information on canning, dehydration, smoking, simple cheese-making, sourdough, and restocking sauces and seasonings at home that have made a huge difference in saving and eating healthier at home. The recipes are game meat friendly, and theres even a few gluten free recipes....
Sommaire:
I want to thank the relatives who fed me such delicious meals and shared their recipes freely. Special thanks to an amazing mother-in-law Kelley and Grandma Carol who are masters in the Kitchen. I also want to thank my Husband for his support throughout writing this book, for helping me in the garden, the coop, and kitchen and not to forget for being so good at hunting and fishing that we get to eat fresh, clean meats. I've gotten to see so much nature, the wild and west thanks to you. Thank you for being my food test dummy all these years. Thank you to my children for opening my eyes to responsible cooking and gathering food that help you thrive as much as possible. The secret ingredient is love has always been a large part of my kitchen. I think love adds so much flavor to life and that trickles down into what you do, including making food. Find what foods you love, what foods your family loves, and enjoy that meal together....
