Biographie:
Elyn Desiree (pen name) is a Ghanaian poet and medical doctor residing in Accra, Ghana. From an early age, specifically at six years old, Elyn found solace and expression in writing, initially crafting short stories. Her literary journey, however, took a significant turn in 2017, during her fourth year in medical school, a transformation inspired by a roommate's passionate engagement with poetry. This encounter reshaped Elyn's artistic expressions from prose to poetry, leading her to share her verses first on a blog and then on Instagram, where she has been active for years. Elyn Desiree's poems explore the delicate themes of love, mental health, anxiety, and friendships, often drawing from her medical background to deepen the emotional resonance of her work. Influenced by many contemporary poets, Elyn strives to make her poetry relatable and emotionally compelling. In her collections, Elyn helps readers explore the full spectrum of human emotions. She challenges the conventional focus on relentless positivity, encouraging readers to confront and embrace both the light and shadows of their lives.
