Présentation The Thirty - Nine Steps de John Buchan Format Relié

Résumé :
John Buchan's The Thirty-Nine Steps is a classic adventure and espionage thriller that introduced readers to the resourceful hero Richard Hannay and helped define the modern spy novel. When Richard Hannay, recently returned from South Africa, becomes entangled in a mysterious conspiracy in London, he suddenly finds himself accused of murder and pursued across the British countryside. Forced to flee the city, Hannay must evade both the police and a shadowy network of foreign agents while uncovering a plot that threatens the security of the British state. As he races through Scotland pursued by enemies on all sides, Hannay relies on quick thinking, disguises, and the occasional help of strangers to stay one step ahead of those hunting him. The trail leads toward a cryptic clue known as the thirty-nine steps, whose meaning may hold the key to stopping a dangerous international scheme. First published in 1915, The Thirty-Nine Steps became one of the defining adventure thrillers of the twentieth century. Its combination of suspense, political intrigue, and relentless pursuit has influenced generations of spy fiction and inspired numerous film and stage adaptations....
