Présentation The Sea - Hawk de Sabatini, Rafael Format Relié
- Livre Roman historique
Résumé :
A classic historical adventure of betrayal, exile, and vengeance set against the violent struggles of the Mediterranean world in the age of Elizabeth I. First published in 1915, The Sea-Hawk is one of Rafael Sabatini's most celebrated adventure novels, combining swashbuckling action with political intrigue and personal drama. The story follows Sir Oliver Tressilian, an English gentleman betrayed by his own half-brother and sold into slavery after being falsely accused of murder. Transported to the brutal world of the Barbary corsairs, Tressilian is forced to rebuild his life under a new identity among the feared sea raiders of North Africa. As he rises through courage and cunning, he ultimately becomes known as Sakr-el-Bahr-the Hawk of the Sea. Yet even as he commands ships and strikes terror into the Mediterranean trade routes, the memory of betrayal and lost love drives him toward a final reckoning. Sabatini's novel blends historical detail with high adventure, portraying the turbulent maritime conflicts between Christian Europe and the Barbary states during the late sixteenth century. With its dramatic sea battles, shifting loyalties, and richly drawn characters, The Sea-Hawk remains one of the enduring classics of historical adventure fiction....

After deciding to join the pirates, they give him the name Sakr-el-Bahr which means the hawk of the sea. Sakr-el-Bahr swears vengeance against his brother for his evil wrongdoings....
