Martha Percival Brown is the former chief executive officer of Tipperary Sales, Inc. (La-Z-Boy Southeast). A proven retail industry executive and franchise expert, she has transformed companies, cultures, and leaders. As the first woman to lead her multigenerational, family-owned retail furniture company, Martha has secured the status of Tipperary Sales, Inc., as one of the most successful retail furniture companies in the US, having grown the organization to a team of 170 employees, exceeding revenue over $70 million. Furniture Today, the industry's premier publication, named the company one of the top 100 stores in America multiple years over. Martha is a visionary leader who knows what it takes to strengthen and evolve a company's competitiveness and leadership in an ever-changing world. At the forefront of her work lies an exceptional passion for the development of people. Throughout her multi-decade career, she has shaped her company's culture to attract, develop, and retain key talent. She established the company's first formal community relations program, transformed her company's learning and development function into Tipperary University, and established The Tipperary Way, which outlines the critical fundamentals that strategically align hundreds of employees across all store locations throughout the Southeast. She has also served on the executive committee for the board of trustees of Columbia College, SC, where she earned her bachelor's degree in English and communication, as well as on the board of directors for Ronald McDonald House, Charlotte.
