Jenny's summer vacation included a first-time trip by airplane to New York City and found the whole experience to be better, bigger and more wonderful than her wildest imagination. HUGE is about a young girl's first visit to New York City and a scenic tour through all its famous landmarks. Jenny was delighted by the whole trip from the George Washington Bridge to the Statue of Liberty and everything in between. She loved the museums, Yankee Stadium, the subway and buses, the ferry, Broadway, Times Square and especially the Empire State Building. Teachers will love reading this book to their classes, helping students discover all those landmarks while learning the many synonyms for the word big. When Jenny returned to school after her wonderful summer adventure, she was first in line for Show and Tell and described in detail how New York City is bigger than big, larger than large. It is HUGE!...
Biographie:
Mark A. Clarke was born and raised in Upstate New York. Enlisting in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, he volunteered and served in an Airborne Infantry Regiment in Europe. Mark earned a Bachelor's Degree in English Education at SUNY Oswego, a Master's Degree at Saint Rose and post graduate studies in a PHD program at Syracuse University. Mark taught for more than thirty years in a public school in Columbia County where he met his wife. He is a member of the American Legion, 509th Parachute Infantry Association and the 82nd Airborne Association and has served with numerous civic organizations that pertain to veteran issues as a member, lector and in leadership positions.Mark and his wife of 40 years have two children and make their home in Ghent, New York, while enjoying winters in Florida. He stays active in his community and in his spare time writes....
