Ana, our protagonist, steadily excavates all of this-along with generations of familial patterns, both repeating and interrupting them in her own evolving family. She critiques motherhood while enacting it, she discovers her gender as she observes it through her writing, and questions her relationships while staying in them. Frances Badalamenti is the author of the novels, I Don't Blame You and Salad Days. Her essays and interviews can be found in The New Yorker, The Believer Magazine, BOMB Magazine, Longreads and elsewhere. She lives in Portland, Oregon, where she teaches workshops and mentors writers....
