Gas City, Indiana: In the year 1901, a notorious con man by the name of William Slick Willie Scofield courts and marries a local wealthy widow for the sole purpose of obtaining funding to start his own oil exploration company. Now comfortably housed within his wife's lavish three-story mansion, the unscrupulous new husband becomes greatly irritated by the nightly chanting of an old curse by his wife's strange housekeeper, the Miami Indian known as Cindy Moon, who also lives on the third floor with the family cook. Before long, members of the Scofield family and oil workers are being systematically murdered by the hands of an unseen predator. Has the Indian's curse become a reality? It now falls upon Marshal Justin Blake and his deputies to solve these murders, whether man or evil spirit, before others meet the same terrible fate....

Alan E. Losure is a retired civil service federal firefighter and lives with his wife and cat in Gas City, Indiana....
