What happens when a hopeless romantic meets the perfect guy . . . and decides to not date him? Lucy It was love at first sight. But it was always love at first sight for me. That's the problem. So when Pete asked me out that first day we met, I had only one option. I asked him to give me six months as my friend before taking things any farther. Pete was more romantic as my non-platonic friend than any of my boyfriends from the past. Even with his hot-and-cold attitude and the fact that we couldn't tell anyone in his office that we were connected, I knew holding out was going to be one of the hardest things I'd ever done. Pete It was love at first sight. At least for her. Except she turned me down, which bruised my ego more than I cared to admit. So much so, that when my buddy jokingly (?) bet me I couldn't bed Lucy before the six months were up, I was more than game. Or so I thought. Then there was the fact that, since I was working with her parents about their mortgage loan default, I had to make a choice: keep my job and Lucy but not work with her parents, keep my job and work with her parents but never date Lucy, or date Lucy but lose my job for good. I did what I thought was right to keep all three, but I also knew it was only a matter of time before everyone found out the truth about everything. Maybe it was insta-love with Lucy after all, but I was on the fast track to destroying it before knowing for sure....

Lisa Keifer started reading romances as a teen, happily diving into her cousin's romance novel collection. Her own writing is sweet though a little sweary, with plenty of steamy moments but no graphic spice, the door slightly ajar before fading to black.Though she grew up in a small town, she always dreamed of living in the big city. When not busy creating or revising, Lisa can often be found baking desserts or curled up on the sofa with a comfy blanket and (usually) heart-wrenching book. She occasionally attempts finishing a scrapbook she started years ago but doesn't seem to make much progress on. She also loves spending time with her wonderful husband, adorable son, and other family and friends....
