La Dra. Carmen J. Jim?nez naci? y creci? en Puerto Rico. Obtuvo su doctorado en la Universidad Estatal de Pensilvania, con especializaci?n en Literatura Afrohisp?nica. Hace trece a?os trabaj? como traductora aut?noma para una prestigiosa empresa multinacional, donde descubri? su profunda pasi?n por la traducci?n. Ahora ha podido fusionar con ?xito estos dos intereses. Los intereses de investigaci?n de la Dra. Jim?nez abarcan el examen cr?tico de las representaciones de raza y g?nero pertenecientes a individuos negros y afrohispanos en la poes?a y la narrativa. Adem?s, la Dra. Jim?nez se centra en la traducci?n de narrativas de esclavos al idioma espa?ol.Como miembro de la comunidad afrohispana, utiliza su amplio conocimiento y experiencia para educar y arrojar luz sobre las invaluables contribuciones realizadas por este grupo de personas que a menudo se pasa por alto, tanto dentro del aula como a trav?s de sus art?culos publicados. Dr. Carmen J. Jim?nez was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She earned her Doctoral degree from Pennsylvania State University, specializing in Afro-Hispanic Literature. Thirteen years ago, she served as a freelance translator for a prestigious multinational company, where she uncovered her profound passion for translation. She has now been able to successfully merge these two interests. Dr. Jim?nez's research interests encompass the critical examination of race and gender representations pertaining to Black and Afro-Hispanic individuals in poetry and narrative. Additionally, Dr. Jim?nez focuses on the translation of slave narratives into the Spanish language. As a member of the Afro-Hispanic community, she utilizes her extensive knowledge and expertise to educate and shed light on the invaluable contributions made by this often-overlooked group of individuals, both within the classroom and through her published articles....
