I Thought I was Done with This is a book by a German-born black entrepreneur who came to New York only to rediscover a topic he thought he had long since left behind: racism. Maurice Hofmann, son of a single mother, learned early that fighting his fights would be the only way to succeed in life. He also took this unique experience and used it to thrive in life - both personally and professionally. In I Thought I was Done with This, Maurice looks at his experiences and path through life, seeking a way forward for the Black community in the United States - a place he became a part of when moving to New York in 2010. Experiencing racism that can only be compared to the 1960s and 1970s, he looks for resolutions from within the Black community and how internal support will empower a more prosperous and emancipated future for Black people in the USA.
