Biographie:
Christopher Morley (1890-1957) was an American novelist, essayist, and journalist known for his wit, literary enthusiasm, and deep affection for books and reading. Born in Pennsylvania and educated at Haverford College and Oxford University, Morley worked as a journalist and editor while producing a wide range of essays, poems, and novels.He achieved early success with Parnassus on Wheels and its sequel The Haunted Bookshop, both of which celebrate the joy of books and the culture of readers. Morley was also a founding member of the Baker Street Irregulars, a society devoted to the study and appreciation of Sherlock Holmes.His writing reflects a lifelong passion for literature and the community of readers, and his works remain favorites among bibliophiles....
