Résumé : Family therapist Jackie Kessler, the child of Korean refugees, works mostly with minorities, a clientele many of her colleagues avoid. 15-year-old Amy Nguyen, the child of Vietnamese refugees, reluctantly enters Jackie's office after a suicide attempt. Their relationship grows and nurtures them both. At age 25, Amy is Seattle's newest indie rock sensation. By 30, she's dead - a suicide. Jackie's shocked - she knows this can't be true. When Amy's family sues her for malpractice, Jackie teams with her family, friends and former police detective, Allan Shaw, to prove it was murder. The investigation pushes their relationships to the edge, forcing them to confront their own traumas, losses, and prejudices.
