Alan je najsretniji de?ak na svetu kada dobija priliku da se zaposli u Edinburghu kao od??ar. Iako je sa svojih devet godina jo? previ?e mali za taj te?ak i opasan posao on je ?rvsto re?en da svojom zaradom pomogne majci u izdr?avanju porodice. ?ivot za de?aka nije sasvim jednostavan od kako mu je otac pre nekoliko meseci preminuo ali mu ?injenica da nije sam u toj nevolji daje snagu da izdr?i. Osim njega ima mnogo sirotinjske dece izmedju tri i dvanaest godina koji su isto tako prinudjeni da rade taj te?ak i rizi?an posao. Iako je za prolaznike malena trupa od??ara simbol sre?e i blagostanja Alan se svakodnevno suo?ava sa ?injenicom da su im bolest i smrt neprestani pratioci. Dok su odrasli od??ari u sukobu oko odluke da li treba pove?ati starosnu granicu do ?esnaest godina deca prestravljeno prebrajaju nove ?rtve. Riskantna slu?ba koju deca obavljaju a koja se od ve?ine bagatelizira je sramna kapitulacija ?itavog viktorijanskog dru?tva. Deca se ose?aju nemo?no i prepu?teni svojoj te?koj sudbini jer pred ?injenicama zatvara o?i ne samo dru?tvo u kojem ?ive ve? i njihove same porodice. Dok parlament ve? nedeljama raspravlja o novom zakonu po kojem ?e starosna granica podi?i na ?esnaest godina za mnoge od njih ?e do tada ve? biti prekasno. Jedan od njih je Albert koji je imao samo tri godine. Razdiran izmedju golog opstanka i bezuslovnoj ljubavi prema svojoj porodici sa jedne strane i straha koji ga svaku no? izjeda u no?nim morama Alan se potajno nada nekom re?enju. Kao da ima svog andjela ?uvara pomo? im pristi?e b? za vreme bo?i?a a svi zajedno moraju doneti jednu veliku odluku.

Susanna D. Stark is a Serbian writer. Since her early childhood she has been very interested in literature and books. At first she only wrote poetry, but in 2014 she finally started writing stories and fairy tales for children and young people. The themes of her stories are very diverse, full of fantasy and unusual characters. Above all, however, she writes about the protection of nature, especially endangered species, and the preservation of tradition.She is a passionate children's book author and creative storyteller who brings young readers' imaginations to life. Her mission is to inspire, educate, and entertain children through her books, helping them discover the magic of reading. She writes stories filled with adventures, friendships, and important life lessons. Each of her books is a window into a world of imagination, designed to spark creative thinking and curiosity. Susanna D. Stark is a Serbian author of children's books. She writes modern stories and fairy tales for children. In her early childhood she wrote only poetry, and in 2014 she finally started writing books for children. Her stories are very diverse, full of fantasy and unusual characters, and most of them are about nature conservation, especially endangered species, natural phenomena, mythical figures and legends. In her books, she skillfully combines real facts with legends and myths and fictional characters, so that reality and fantasy constantly merge. The reader is immersed in a fantastic world that seems more than real and brings imaginative and interesting characters very close to the reader.To date, she has published several children's books in different languages:
