      • Résumé :
She was supposed to be my wife, not my rival's slave. I promised to go legit. The truth-I can't. It's who I am. When I broke the news, River returned my ring and moved out like I knew she would. I don't tell her the truth. My only hope is that my rival sees the engagement is off and decides the deal is, too. If he doesn't and finds River, she'll become his slave, and all good is gone from my world. This is the second book in this page-turning Devil Series. Readers ask if they can read this book first before the other. The answer is yes, but reading Book One, The Devil You Know, the novella, will give you some background. Cover art & design: Consuelo Parra. Trigger Warning: This book contains an abduction, surveillance, discussion of past suicide, drug abuse, child abuse, domestic violence and graphic sexual acts. If you find any of this triggering, this book is not for you. However, the book ends with a HEA.

        Biographie:
Kay spent the first part of her career as a professional artist, teaching full-time at the college level and showing her art. She has an undergraduate degree from Moore College of Art & Design and an MFA from Vermont College. Author Skye Warren's book, The Pawn, was the first romance book that she fell in love with. Now, she uses words instead of paint and wood to reveal universal truths and confront the human longing to connect. She believes romance transforms the heroine, the hero, and the reader and that reading a good romance takes you on a journey, healing both the author and the reader. Romance writer Calia Wild (A.R. Case) selected Kay as a mentee for the Romance Writers of America mentorship program, called RAMP, in 2021. Then The Wild Rose Press, Scarlet Imprint, placed her novel, Truth Moon, under contract, for a spring 2023 release. Plus, her second book in that series, Tarot Moon, is in the editing phase. Check back for more free content under Kay's Readers Club on her webpage. Kay also writes for substack, What Do Romance Writers Think About? to give back to other writers the kind of support that she's been so privileged to receive....

        Sommaire:

Kay Freeman spent most of her life in higher education, as a scholar who transitioned to helping other scholars realize their educational quest. She is a daughter, whose parents died when she was just starting her adult life, but they were so proud of all of her achievements, tenacity for success, and zest for life. Her only sister passed away from a brain tumor five weeks after her diagnosis. This book is dedicated to her sister, as she embraced life and was Kay&rsquo...
