The idea of 'accepting' Jesus has shifted from revolutionary attachment to an impulsive decision, painless and without cost-and with no concept of discipleship. The choice for anyone who claims to be a Christian is simple. Actually, there is no choice, says Tozer in True Discipleship. A Christian follows Christ. There is no alternative. The purpose of redemption was to restore mankind to its former closeness with God. The goal of every Christian must be an increasingly intimate acquaintance with Him. We must recapture the hope of His returning, and that hope must lift our lives beyond the earthly. With God as our refuge and the source of our strength, and with our eyes on our heavenly future and the promise of Christ's coming, we must yearn to please our Savior and Lord.

Hardly is there a place, whether in the home, in the shop, in the workplace, in the museum, or in the religious institution, where we do not find some type of literature. And like Solomon said, of making many books there is no end. It was true in his day, and it is true in our day. There is no lack of books being written today, and many good books can be found among this plethora of writing. And yet, there is something special about old books, books that have stood the test of time. This does not mean all old books are good books. In fact, many of the books that have been preserved throughout history are not fit for the Christian mind. Many of them are of little use to the Christian, and as a company, Burkholder Media has undertaken the task of reprinting only those books of value to the Christian mind.
