Biographie:
Andrew Parrillo was an institutional investor for over four decades, the last twenty-five years of which were with his own registered investment advisory firm, Newport Capital Advisers LLC that served endowment funds and family investment offices on a discretionary and non-discretionary basis. The problems that he has solved for former clients and wants to solve with this book are to eliminate the anxiety that individuals may have about investing, to eliminate or greatly reduce their ongoing fees and to produce optimal outcomes with their money. The three questions that investors must answer about investing are: How much risk they want, how much risk they have in their portfolio and how much risk do they need to achieve their goals. He relates what worked for investors over those decades and what he discusses in Beat the Wealth Management Hustle is his reality, not a theoretical idea.He was inspired to share his perspective and advocacy in the book after receiving questions from strangers who have investment advisors about their investment accounts in late 2022 after the financial markets declined by nearly 20%. It was clear from subsequent conversations with friends who have investment advisors that they did not know how much they paid in advisory fees or if and how their advisor added value to their accounts. The fact is that much has changed in the past twenty years to benefit investors, but the wealth management industry has not.He has three accomplished sons and three grandchildren and enjoys strength training, cooking, a variety of outdoor activities and walking his large black standard poodle, Enzo.
