Alexandre Dumas was a renowned French writer born on July 24, 1802. He is best known for his historical novels, including The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo and The Man in the Iron Mask. Dumas was the son of a French nobleman and a Haitian slave, and his mixed-race background influenced his writing, which often featured themes of social justice and equality.
