Résumé :
This new novel takes place in a remote Swiss valley in the mid-19th century. It is based on a true story. When eleven-year-old Josef is killed by a rock avalanche, his brother is convinced it is murder. He had seen someone on a rocky outcrop above the scree before it began to roll. But who would want to kill an eleven-year-old boy, and why? Jakob suspects the privileged son of the owner of a matchstick factory, but nobody takes him seriously and he is powerless to obtain justice. Thirty years later, Jakob's profoundly deaf daughter is raped by the same man and becomes pregnant. Jakob is determined to get justice for his daughter, at no matter what cost. He unearths a myriad of well-kept secrets in the tight-lipped community, but is anyone willing to tell the truth? Just as he thinks he has uncovered the facts, he realises he has made a vital mistake all along. Nothing is really as it seems.

Biographie:
Rowena Kinread wuchs in Ripon, Yorkshire, mit Ihrer Familie und ein Haufen Haustiere, auf. Sie besuchte die Ripon Grammar School und arbeitete nach dem Abitur f?r Lufthansa in Deutschland.Ende der neunziger Jahre schrieb sie verschiedene Artikel f?r Zeitschriften in England und Deutschland und mehrere Sachb?cher f?r den Frech Verlag. Sie absolvierte einen sechsmonatigen Schreibkurs f?r Belletristik, angeboten von Kendal Publishing Limited.Ihr besonderes Interesse gilt der Geschichte und, nachdem sie ihre famili?ren Wurzeln bei den Dalriada in Irland entdeckt hat, insbesondere dieser Epoche. Ihr Deb?troman mit dem Titel ?Der Missionar ist ein historischer Roman ?ber das Leben des Heiligen Patrick. Er wurde 2021 von Pegasus Publishers ver?ffentlicht.Ihr zweiter Roman ?Die Schotten von Dalriada handelt von Fergus M?r, dem ersten K?nig von Schottland, und spielt im Irland und Schottland des 5. Jahrhunderts. Er wurde am 26ten Jan. 2023 ver?ffentlicht.Zurzeit lebt sie in Bodman-Ludwigshafen am Bodensee, Deutschland. Mehrmals im Jahr reist sie zu ihrer gro?en Familie nach Gro?britannien.Rowena Kinread leidet an progressiver Muskeldystrophie, einer seltenen Erbkrankheit. Seit ihrem 40. Geburtstag ist sie auf den Rollstuhl angewiesen.
