The past and the future are on a collision course. Xavier is an 18-year-old man just months away from graduating from high school and on the way to college. A chance discovery and a routine physical start him on the path to tragedy and discovery. Forced to fake his own death and run to another city over a hundred miles away, he is separated from friends and family after discovering he is the target of a kidnapping and murder conspiracy. To save his family from potential death, he attempts to outsmart the shadowy influential figures who seek to capture and rob him of his future. He joins forces with Castro, the leader of Subreption, a centralized international activist-hacktivist group. With Castro's help, he hopes to find answers to his questions as he helps Castro search for his missing sister? However, with each passing day, their fates become increasingly connected. Xavier's only clues include a single word written on a piece of paper and a mysterious tattoo on his shoulder that he doesn't remember ever getting. Xavier's Utopian view of the world is systematically destroyed by the reality of his circumstances as questions about his past continue to haunt him. Each day the image in the mirror changes as he moves closer and closer to uncovering the secret agenda of those who seek to control or destroy him, his friends, and his family. Determined to win at any cost, he struggles to survive and return home without losing the core part of who he is and what he believes. The continuous dialogue in his mind hounds him night and day. Will he still be a good person at the end of his journey? Will he be able to go back home and resume his life? Will he be trapped by the past forever, never knowing if his hopes and dreams were his own or those of the puppet masters?

Biographie:
An educator with 20 years of experience teaching Law and Justice and Popular Culture and the Law to 9-12th graders. Her dream is to become a true Renaissance woman; she has worked numerous jobs ranging from law enforcement, fire fighting, park ranger, educator, and young adult novelist. She has earned a Doctorate in English, enjoys writing science fiction for her teenage students, and bribes them with excerpts from her chapters in exchange for good behavior on days when she has a substitute. Her oldest son is a heavenly angel who inspires her to fulfill his and her bucket lists. Her youngest son gives her purpose and meaning, and her husband sits back and watches the fallout from her escapades while her beloved service dog Rosie joins her in the madness. When she is not teaching, coaching the Mock Trial team, or the Speech and Debate team, she is working on Do-It-Yourself projects to relieve steam and, of course, planning her next book.
