Résumé : Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, is his last large orchestral work. It forms an important part of the violin repertoire and is one of the most popular and most frequently performed violin concertos in history.? Mendelssohn originally proposed the idea of the violin concerto to Ferdinand David, a close friend and then concertmaster of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. Although conceived in 1838, the work took another six years to complete and was not premiered until 1845. During this time, Mendelssohn maintained a regular correspondence with David, who gave him many suggestions. The work itself was one of the foremost violin concertos of the Romantic era and was influential on many other composers. In addition to a piano score a separate violin part is included. Es ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Violinrepertoires und eines der beliebtesten und am h?ufigsten aufgef?hrten Violinkonzerte der Geschichte. Mendelssohn schlug die Idee des Violinkonzerts urspr?nglich Ferdinand David vor, einem engen Freund und damaligen Konzertmeister des Leipziger Gewandhausorchesters. Obwohl das Werk bereits 1838 konzipiert wurde, dauerte es weitere sechs Jahre bis zur Fertigstellung und die Urauff?hrung erfolgte erst 1845. W?hrend dieser Zeit pflegte Mendelssohn einen regelm??igen Briefwechsel mit David, der ihm viele Anregungen gab. Das Werk selbst war eines der bedeutendsten Violinkonzerte der Romantik und hatte Einfluss auf viele andere Komponisten. Neben einer Klavierpartitur ist eine separate Violinstimme enthalten.
