Biographie:
Alana Gamage is an urban shaman living in Davis, CA. She descends from the English people on her father's side and the Kichwa people from the Oriente of Ecuador on her mother's side.She studies indigenous community organization, eco-psychology, and spiritual wisdom from around the world in order to offer healing practices which complements and provides alternatives to Western medicine for communities that have forgotten their indigenous origins. She hopes to bring awareness to the value that indigenous communities have on our planet across areas spanning from child-care, education, community planning and health, urban design, and post-colonial systems of economy. She invented her own version of urban shamanism in order to practice being a peaceful healing bridge across old world colonial systems and new world integrative and mutli-cultural post-colonial systems.She writes poetry. She offers healing services for individuals and groups. She consults organizations on how they can become regenerative leaders. She is creating an Urban Shamanic Studies Institute to build upon her work and spread its impact to local communities around the world.
