Résumé :
This volume presents a collection of twenty-five peer-reviewed articles carefully selected from the contributions presented at the XXV Congress of the Portuguese Statistical Society (2021). Containing state-of-the-art developments in theoretical and applied statistics, the book will be accessible to readers with a background in mathematics and statistics, but will also be of interest to researchers from other scientific disciplines (e.g., biology, economics, medicine), who will find a broad range of relevant applications.
Biographie: Regina Bispo is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics of the NOVA School of Science and Technology and a research member of the NOVAMATH Centre of Mathematics and Applications. She is currently an elected member of the board of directors of the Portuguese Statistical Society (2021-2023). Over the years she has regularly collaborated as an enterprise consultant and as an integrated member on national and international research projects. She has been responsible for planning and coordinating over 20 advanced courses in Statistics, and has collaborated as Editor and referee for several international peer-reviewed journals. Her main research interests include Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, Multivariate Statistics, and Machine Learning models. L?gia Henriques-Rodrigues is an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department, School of Science and Technology at the University of ?vora (Portugal) and a researcher in the Center of Mathematics and Applications,Institute for Research and Advanced Training at the same institution. She has collaborated as referee for several international peer-reviewed journals. Her main research interests are Statistics of Extremes, Nonparametric Statistics, and Computational Statistical Methods with applications to Life Sciences, Environment, Risk, Insurance and Finance.
