About this book This book features a collection of reviews focusing on interrelated topics in nano-optics and nanophononics written by some of the world's leading scientists in these fields. The book discusses recent results of numerical investigations of light-matter interactions at the nanoscale using first-principles calculations. Additionally, it reviews selected topics in the areas of nanophotonic devices based on functional nanoparticles for energy harvesting and the development of photo materials for advanced applications in optics and nanotechnologies. Finally, the book reviews the experimental development of quantum-dot single-photon sources on integrated photonic circuits and looks at applications in quantum information processing and quantum information distribution based on color center in diamond.

Biographie:

>From 2008 to 2020, he was Associate Professor in the University of Tokyo. In 2020, he joined Toyohashi University of Technology as Professor. His current research interests include nanophotonic chemical reactions using optical near-field and its application to nanophotonics. Dr. Yatsui is recipient of the following awards: 1st prize in a best paper contest from the IEEE Student Branch at Tokyo Institute of Technology (1998), Excellent Research Presentation Award from the Japan Society of Applied Physics (2000), Tejima Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Tejima Foundation (2001), the Gottfried Wagener Prize (2010), Osaka University Kondo Prize (2012), Erlangen Innovation Award Optical Technologies (2012), the Ichimura Prize in Science for Distinguished Achievement (2016), Optical Engineering Award (Takawano Award) from JSAP (2019), DOCOMO Mobile Science Award (2021).
