Résumé :
Dr. Finnigan has written this little book to encourage and strengthen parents whose desire it is to have a Christ-honoring, Bible-based home. This book focuses on helping parents understand and work through their God-given challenge of child-rearing; yes, hopefully, without losing their spiritual sanity! It is in the midst of today's wicked, antichrist atmosphere that, by God's grace, Christian families must thrive. To say that we live in turbulent and challenging days is surely an understatement! This is especially true for those of us who desire to raise our children in a Christian environment. Particularly since the 1960s, the godless, satanic world system has progressively inundated our culture. Families have been shattered by divorce and rebellion, while churches suffer from spiritual lethargy and worldly intoxication. The influence of social media, smart phones, and the internet, which have subtly weakened the cohesiveness of family life. There is an insidious evil attack on Christian homes in light of the spirit of rebellion. The words, Unthankful, unholy, and disobedient to parents are prophetically intensified in the last days. (2 Timothy 3:1f)
Biographie:
Pastor, teacher, author, mentor and presently a Bible instructor at the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley in Youngstown, Ohio. Bill Finnigan has been engaged in active ministry for over sixty years.A native of Newark, New Jersey, Bill received a call to ministry while in college. The ensuing years were spent in intensive study to learn and sharpen ministry skills. Attending several universities, he holds a number of degrees, including the Doctor of Ministry. For over twenty-seven years, Bill held pulpits in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, reaching people with God's life-changing Word. His outreach experience has included radio, prison, and Bible conference ministries. He has served as a college professor, and director of a Biblical counseling center. He has authored other publications, including Healing for the Mind, offering comfort and remedy for mental turmoil; Forgiven to Forgive, which serves as an antidote to resentment and bitterness; Living Skillfully, a commentary on Proverbs; and Facing Depression, examining its cause and cure. More recently his time has been devoted to writing, preaching, and the ongoing instruction at the rescue mission. As the Lord provides opportunities, he continues to be busily engaged in the Lord's Vineyard, considering himself refired, rather than retired.Dr. William J.
