This debut collection of poetry is an invitation to wander, explore, and peel back the layers of what it means to live within both our external and internal landscapes. How do we create a home within our bodies? Can we learn to love the homes we inhabit through daily noticings of our impermanent environments? What can trees teach us about ourselves, each other? This is a collection of wild words inspired by the ephemeral beauty of the Green Mountain State and the raw experience of new motherhood, though one does not need to be familiar with Vermont or be a mother to locate themselves within these poems. This book is for anyone who has ever been overcome by grief, who has experienced the body's wisdom, who has searched for truth, and belonging, and healing on a walk in the woods, who has marveled at a flowing river. Biographie:
Alexandra learned at a young age how vital the natural world is in shaping who we are. Although Vermont has not always been her address, she has never felt more at home in a place - it is where her poetry lives. Alexandra is a member of the Poetry Society of Vermont and is a graduate from The University of Vermont, and The Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. Her poetry can be found in The Mountain Troubadour, The Bread Loaf Journal, The Inflectionist Review, The Button Eye Review, SWWIM, and The Middlebury Centennial Journal among others. Alexandra is also the winner of the 2022 International Merit Award in the Atlanta Review. She lives in Shelburne, Vermont with her husband, dog, and two sons where she can be found walking in the woods or swimming in the rivers, with a notebook never too far away.
